Updating spybot without internet

Typically, malware and spyware get onto your computer by visiting dodgy websites, clicking on strange links in emails, or a whole host of other ways.

Corporate and technician users have to buy a commercial version. Its an on demand anti malware scanner plus Teatimer. If you want the always on anti virus component, you have to obtain the paid for version. I have had to tweak Spybot 2 'cause it can be invasive and problematic for non Geeks and Geeks alike. My suggestion is to uninstall Spybot and replace it with Malwarebytes, then install a separate antivirus program, one of the free ones, Avira, Bitdefender, Avast etc. Spybot is anti-spyware/anti-malware, combined with Malwarebytes free on-demand scans -- such a combo is very good against spy/mal-ware.perhaps, and, if he doesn't have one, a free firewall, or a paid for version of the AV program which includes a firewall. Anti-virus -- I have both Avast and Avira, one has real time protections on, both run scheduled scans throughout each week.

Separate from these computers is one computer that does have extremely spotty internet access. The important part, as I see it, is that we need to keep the computers up to date, but can't let the AV software suck down updates at its leisure: the computers are disconnected, and getting emails onto the connected computer is a challenge enough.
